Good afternoon, I wanted to report a road hazard that I've had the unfortunate displeasure of driving over a few times, and each time fearing my car may have been damaged. On Rte. 6 eastbound, left lane, approximately 50 yards past Knoxville Ave, there is a speed hump in only the left lane. I believe it is the result of an overfilled crack or pothole, filled a couple weeks ago. When hitting it at 65 mph, it feels like it is causing serious damage to my vehicle, and during the morning commute hours, there are so many cars entering Rt 6 from Knoxville that there is no other choice but to drive in the left lane. Could someone from City Works please look into correcting this road hazard? Thank you, Megan Holder
South Sterling avenue roadwork, potholes and dust In late May 2014 road repairs were started on the south part of Sterling Avenue from Martin Luther King Jr Street and Manor Parkway (I think). It started with grading of the road, followed by loose gravel. That was followed by applying oil. I believe the road has been sprayed with water to keep the flying dust down. Don't get me wrong it helped some. Due to the rain on yesterday there wasn't much travel on S Sterling. This morning as we were leaving for church we noticed how slow cars were traveling on South Sterling. Being curious as others were we ventured out to drive down Sterling to see why traffic was moving so slow. We discovered numerous potholes and felt the need to report this. With the dust our vehicles look like they have not been washed, No date has been given as to when these repairs were to be complete. On behalf of the residents we would like to hear back as to what the plan is for this. Thank you for your time and response. 318 S Sterling Av
In March we were sent an email that this road was scheduled for repairs this summer but a meeting was to take place to determine when. Have we come up with the date yet. This road is once again full of huge holes and is almost impossible to drive safely on. Something needs to be done VERY soon. Please advise. Thank you Sharon Hosler
