THANK YOU to the city workers and snowplow pilots who have kept the streets clear of snow as best they can. Shame on all those who keep complaining because their street wasn't done first, or their whole neighborhood was not scraped clean down to the pavement with a spatula.
Snowplow driver yesterday did more than his job called for. Thank you for his extra effort.
You snow the drill. Lots of snow can mean lots of complaints. But every snow often there are words of praise. And snow it goes...THANK YOU snow much for a job well done in Oakbrook, Deerbrook, and Oakbrook Villa Subdivisions (all the homes east of the intersection of Knoxville and Deerbrook Drive). There were 2 or 3 snowplow drivers out here at 11pm on Sunday January 13. Please let them know all 285 homeowners really appreciate the gentle touch they used to keep the mounds at the ends of our driveways to a minimum. Outstanding job. Thank you. We appreciate you.
Kudos to Sie Maroon and his entire snow patrol for a job well done on January 12!
Dave Henderson (Peoria Resident) telephoned to say the City of Peoria did a very nice job on Northmoor Rd and also on Willow Knolls Rd. Mr. Henderson said he is quite satis and a job well done!
Thanks to Antonio from Comm Dev for “lighting a fire” under the landlord of 610 E Pennsylvania to clean up garbage piled and strewn about the yard and alley of the this dilapidated “residence.”
At approximately 2250 on 10-1-2018 I was driving to the PATC to start my shift and I was pulled over and had an encounter with one of your officers. I can’t tell you his name but I can tell you that he handled himself in a way that shows favorably towards the Peoria Police Department. He demanded my hands out the window and explained he was responding to shots fired nearby and that he was looking for a vehicle fitting my vehicles color. He quickly used his reasoning to determine I was not the shooter that he was looking for and apologized and told me to have a safe night at work. Although my end of law enforcement is dramatically different at the ATC from that of this officer. I found his ability to access the situation safely and his ability to articulate the reason for the stop and apologize and proceed on the search for the shooter in under 40seconds to be a reflection of the departments training and goal to protect and serve the community of Peoria with respect and efficiency. I’m not sure who gets these but I would appreciate that a captain or somebody give your guys an atta-boy for representing the department in favorable matter in what is arguably one of the most high stress situations one can be in. Thank You
Lauren Opper does a great job as our neighborhood President. The meeting a few months ago with Chuck and Code was excellent. I talked to the people in charge of Code at meeting about the condition of our alley. They have been working on it and I have seen Tom out here multiple times. Thank you to everyone for your amazing work and passion serving our neighborhoods. I wish I had more time to help with stuff and Lauren is fantastic. Don’t let people with bad attitudes change how you serve our community. Together we will keep our City great.
Thank you so much for installing the sign and making our crosswalk safer. Your team is incredibly quick and reactive! Keep up the good job!
