I wanted to inquire about a field trip/tour of a fire station. Do the fire stations still allow these for kids who are interested about fire safety?
I went grocery shopping at Hyvee at Grand Prairie and as I was putting my groceries in the trunk of my car a young woman came up to me and said she needed a ride for she was stranded there. I asked where she was going and she said Broadway. I told her I did not know where Broadway was and she said she would show me. Bells went off in my gut so I told her I was sorry I could not. I finished putting groceries in my trunk and turned around and she disappeared totally. I went to Walmart on Allen road and a young black male came up to my car when I was putting groceries in my trunk asking for money. He totally disappeared to after I said I am sorry but no. I went to Kroger on Lynburg and as I was putting groceries in the trunk of my car a young black male asked for money for a bus ticket home. I also said I am sorry but no. He also totally disappeared. I think these people are sitting in vehicles waiting for an easy mark. I am an 81 year old white headed female and look a lot more vulnerable than I really am for my brain is still in good shape. I was back at Hyvee and saw a young black man standing with a card board sign of being homeless and asking for money on the devision of the street by Steak and Shake and Star Bucks. This has all happened in the last 3-4 months. I question should visitors come to Peoria this sure is not a good light for them to see. Maybe patrol cars could take a swing thru some of these store parking lights periodically just to make their presence known for these people are sitting in cars waiting for an easy mark.
Please check 3410 N. Bigelow Street. There is an overflowing rolloff parked in front of the house that needs to be removed and probably should not have been there at all. It has been there for about three weeks. Thank you.
I have a branch that needs to be picked up.

Multiple inoperable vehicles, garbage/debris in front yard
Storm debris was picked up on my street, Purtscher Dr, today. However, my house was passed over. My branches and sticks are within the requirements described - bundles no more than 5 feet or 50 lbs and they are bound with twine. I live at 821 W. Purtscher Dr. Peoria, IL 61614. I would appreciate notice if there is going to be an additional pick-up or if other arrangements need to be made to dispose of this debris.
On January 14, crews and 5 trucks/ end loaders arrived at 4am and disposed of bundled/ loose limbs on our street. However, no cans on our street were emptied at this time. Was there a reason cans were not addressed during this sweep? Will they be emptied next week? Any information regarding containers on Detweiller Drive would be much appreciated. Description of Service Request: Please empty cans at end of drive containing limbs that were ignored during 1st sweep.
This letter is concerning tree damage on a city right of way occurring during the December 28th, 2015 ice storm. I reported the damaged hazardous tree to the City of Peoria Public Works department on January 4th and spoke with a representative to report the damaged tree on the city of Peoria right of way behind two properties: 526 W. Timber Ridge Drive and 515 W. Altorfer Lane in the 61615 zip code area. I also left a voice message to report the same information on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016. I contacted several arborists who stated that the tree is indeed damaged and posed an imminent threat with predictable tree or branch failure. This damaged tree is a hazard and threat due to proximity to the power lines, to property, and to public safety. Please contact me with an update of inspection and date of removal of said tree.
The house at 721 W. Eleanor Pl. has a crane or sissor lift parked in its driveway towards the back of the house. It is an industrial looking item and has been in the driveway for a few months. The house is vacant and there is no apparent reason why the owner of the property has this eyesore in the driveway. I want the city to get this item removed. Thank you.
